Software: PS3D

PS3D

PS3D simulates the penetration of non-eroding axisymmetric projectiles into solid targets like concrete, sand, soil, aluminium, or steel. A three-dimensional trajectory is obtained for each set of initial conditions. Then, especially the penetration depth or the exit velocity of the projectile are of interest. Additionally, the warhead designer gets information about a possible projectile failure, since the elastic and plastic bending deformation of the projectile is evaluated in the PS3D analysis.
