Version 4.2.1 of the software SPEED is now available. The new version enhances the 3D FE solver by supporting more flexible meshes, increased accuracy for strongly deformed elements as well as additional options for the definition of boundary conditions. Furthermore, the funtionalities for visualization and evaluation have been improved.

Angular initial velocities can now be defined in all suitable solvers. Further immprovements are e.g. an extended k-file import, an enhanced connectivity to the provided FreeCAD software, the export of SPEED FE models in k-file format and a model / data exchange with the software FI-BLAST.

Furthermore, a new algorithm in v4.2.1 permits an automatic readout of even strongly disturbed jets from 2D and 3D Euler simulations. Details on the current version can be found here and in the Release Notes.

The new version 4 of the software SPEED with a 3D FE solver is now available. NUMERICS therewith make an important step in its continuing extension of its solver family and significantly increase the range of application of the software.

KE-rod penetrating ERA element

KE-projektile impacting an ERA element.

Besides an intuitional model setup and high computational performance (multi-threading included) SPEED also offers a multitude of ourstanding features for post-processing and visualization like e.g. combinations of clipping and component views displaying different parameters.

jacketed projectile penetrating abobe wall

Jacketed projectile penetrating a mud brick wall.

EFP formation (eff. plastic strain)

EFP formation with display of plastic strain.

Details on the current version 4.1.3 can be found here and in the Release Notes.

Upgrade for FI-BLAST available

Date: 03/01/2019

With the new 64-bit version of the software FI-BLAST former restrictions in model size are removed. Hence, even very large and detailled FE models, respectively, can now be imported and analyzed in FI-BLAST.

Further, the visualization has been improved by additional features and minor bugs have been fixed.

Details on the current version 1.1.2 can be found here and in the Release Notes.
